- WHY DID GOD COME IN FLESH?
Because man fell in the flesh.
“Since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death.” — Hebrews 2:14
Man’s fall happened inside a human body. Authority over the earth was given to man, not angels (Genesis 1:26). Therefore redemption had to occur inside humanity. God could not redeem man as Spirit alone; He had to legally enter the human race.
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14
This was not God pretending to be human; it was God becoming what He came to save.
- WHY COULD GOD NOT JUST FORGIVE FROM HEAVEN?
Because God had already established law and justice by His own Word.
“In the day you eat of it, you shall surely die.” — Genesis 2:17
If God simply ignored this, He would deny His own Word. Satan could accuse God of injustice. Therefore God chose a higher way: He Himself would pay the price demanded by His own law.
- WHY FLESH SPECIFICALLY?
Sin, inheritance, and death are tied to the human body.
“By one man sin entered the world, and death through sin.” — Romans 5:12
Redemption required a real human body, a real human life, and a real human death. Jesus was fully human, not symbolic.
- WHY DID HE HAVE TO SHED BLOOD?
After the fall, life became blood-sustained.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement.” — Leviticus 17:11
Humanity shifted from Spirit-sustained life to blood-sustained life. Sin corrupted the bloodstream, and death passed through blood lineage from Adam. Blood had to be addressed to end death.
- WHY ANIMAL BLOOD WAS NOT ENOUGH
“It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.” — Hebrews 10:4
Animal blood could only cover sin temporarily. It could not remove sin or restore sonship. Only sinless human blood could redeem humanity.
- WHY JESUS’ BLOOD WAS DIFFERENT
Jesus’ blood was human, but not from Adam.
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you.” — Luke 1:35
His blood was free from Adamic corruption.
“You were redeemed… with the precious blood of Christ.” — 1 Peter 1:18–19
- WHY SHEDDING BLOOD MEANT MORE THAN DEATH
“This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.” — Matthew 26:28
Jesus poured out His life to end the old covenant of blood survival and establish the new covenant of Spirit life.
- WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE RESURRECTION
Jesus rose not as blood-sustained, but as Spirit-empowered.
“A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” — Luke 24:39
Blood life ended at the cross. Resurrection life is Spirit-powered.
- WHAT THIS MEANS FOR US
“As He is, so are we in this world.” — 1 John 4:17
Jesus entered blood-life to end it, rose to restore glorified life, and shared the Spirit of the Son with us.
“God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts.” — Galatians 4:6
- SUMMARY
God came in flesh because only a man could redeem man.
