9.Eden Embedded, Earth Imbibed

In the beginning, God placed within man an Eden nature — a divine pattern of purity, harmony, and obedience. This was God’s perfect will for humanity: a life aligned with His Word, sustained by His Spirit, and free from corruption. This Eden nature was not just an environment but an internal embedding — God’s character sown deep into man’s being.

When man fell, however, the Earth nature was imbibed — absorbed through disobedience, deception, and the influence of the serpent. This fallen nature was not from God but from the devil, producing pride, greed, jealousy, and striving for dominance. Where Eden’s nature reflected equality in God’s design, Earth’s nature introduced inequality, competition, and the desire to exalt self over others.

From this Earth-imbibed nature come the seeds of dissatisfaction:

The desire to be more beautiful or handsome than others, or to demand equality in appearance.

The jealousy or hatred that rises when others seem to have more talent, honor, or recognition.

The resentment toward unequal positions, professions, or pay.

These attitudes are not part of Eden’s embedding — they are products of a fallen order. God’s perfect will is not built on comparison but on contentment in divine identity.

In Christ, the Eden embedding can be restored, replacing the Earth imbibing with the life of God’s Spirit. This is the journey from corruption back to incorruption, from earthly striving back to heavenly rest.
